About Me
Glen A Davis

Glen Davis was born in New York on February 3, 1957. He graduated from Iona

Preparatory school in 1974, studied psychology at Connecticut College and photography

at Syracuse University. From 1979 through 1987 he worked for his family’s business,

Davis Studio, a photography studio founded by his father in 1954.

Since 1999 Glen has shot extensively for several automotive clients: Land Rover,

Jaguar, BMW, MINI, Rolls-Royce and Subaru. His work for the automotive industry

includes advertising assignments, press events, incentive programs and marketing

photography.  Glen’s images have been published in hundreds of publications, both in

print and on-line, on magazine covers and billboards. Glen is knowledgeable in the

unique techniques necessary to photograph cars, both in studios and on location.  Glen’s

automotive work has sent him on assignments across the globe, including to Jordan,

South Africa, Italy, Iceland, Argentina, Belize, Costa Rica, Mexico, Canada, Germany,

France and Austria, as well as on location to various places throughout the United States.

When photographing people, Glen’s friendly and personable nature enables him to elicit

natural expressions, as well as each subject’s personality.

Glen also works for FORBES magazine. In 1988 Malcolm Forbes hired Glen to be the

official Forbes photographer. Glen worked extensively with Malcolm, photographing

such things as international motorcycling adventures, cruises on the Forbes motoryacht

The Highlander, hot-air balloon flights, visits from heads of state and Hollywood

superstars--always capturing history with his camera. After Malcolm’s death in 1990, the

Forbes brothers asked Glen to stay on with the company.

Glen now provides his photographic services to many Forbes departments, including

editorial, the conference division, corporate communications, advertising and curatorial.

He also makes himself available to the Forbes family, shooting everything and everyone,

from U.S. presidential campaigns to castles to weddings to family portraits to the latest

grandchildren. Glen enjoys the diversity of his work.  While his Forbes assignments

require a very different skill-set than do those in the automotive world, Glen’s

professionalism and creative eye are integral to both. When Glen is not holding a camera,

he can often be found giving student pilots flight instruction, soaring through the skies in

his own airplane or restoring a vintage aircraft.
